Health anxiety.. triggered

hi all

i found a neck lump which has triggered my health anxiety massively. Google has convinced me its cancer. i keep being told its a lymph node then its not its a boney cyst im so worried i cant eat or sleep i had very bad stress/anxiety last 2 years so im worn out mentally and physically. i have a scan and a biopsy tomorrow then a few weeks wait for the results im so scared im going to die and leave my 5 year old im 42, my anxiety is usually manageble but lately its out of control once i get answers ill feel calmer its this uncertainty of the unknown i cant handle im convincing myslef ive got throat/stomach/thyroid cancer ...its so draining i just need someone to put me out of my misery and tell me its nothing to worry about asap!

also the ENT guy decided to tell me even though my bloods were ok not all cancers show up! that sent me into more of a panic

    Claire, if you know yourself well enough to know that you are an anxious person, avoid doing these kinds of searches on Google. It can be very helpful for some things, but its answers are not based on an individual analysis of YOUR case.

    If you google "headache" you will find everything from a cold to the most horrible diseases.

    You did well to go to the doctor after finding something suspicious in your body, but try to leave the analysis in the doctors' hands. Whatever the result is, you will have the necessary time to act. Don't worry, your part is done.
