Healthy diet for a TEEN

Posted , 7 users are following.

Hi,

Im a 17-years-old teen boy. Im looking for a more healthier lifestyle.

I'm starting to cook for my self. My goal is to loose little weight (im not very overweight, but I have some fat on me I want te get rid of) and of course to live more healthier. Im doing different cardio and workouts.

I know that in that age, especially for a boy is not good to go on a diet beacause almost everything you eath is good for your health. That's why im here, to ask you for a compleate list of things (vitamins, food...) I need to consume, so I can make my food with all ingredients I need for growing up and living normaly.

P.S. Im not from the UK or USA so please don't list my different brands because they probably won't be avalible in my country. Just tell me the different kinds of foods and others.

Thank you so much!

Sorry if there are mistakes, english is my second language!

    Hi Dorian,

It is great to read that you want to get on track with your health and at such a good age.

Foods that will provide with great health benefits include fruits, vegetables, raw nuts and raw seeds, these are not normally branded anyway and are best bought locally, seasonally and fresh.

What is important is finding foods that make you thrive. See how different foods affect you and your body - immediately after eating, few hours after eating, a day. What does it do to your energy? Your brain clarity? Your sleeping? Your skin? Your bodily functions? Etc.

    Hope this helps.

P.S. Your English is good smile

    Hi Dorian,

Very well done on wanting to get yourself healthy and fit while you are still so young! If you do as much with your health and fitness as you have done with your English learning then you will be so pleased with with the results very soon!

Take note of all Rebecca's advise and you will do well. Do at least 30 minutes exercise six days a week and you will soon be seeing the results. You will also find great benefits if you walk briskly for 30 minutes a day, but make sure you do include hills.

    Very best wishes to you.

No problem in understanding you. Some advice. When we talk of healthy food what do we mean? To illustrate, apples are seen as healthy food but don't contain any useful amounts of proteins, starch and fats. The major nutrient in apples is sugar. So apples are healthy if you eat them as well as other food. A healthy and balanced diet contains food from grains, fruits and berries, beans and meat (or vegetarian alternatives) etc. Check out NHS Choices, Food Standards Agency (Scotland), the World Health Organisation, the United Nations and the USA food agency for info and guidance. But ignore the phishing web sites that try to persuade you to sign up for products that are either useless or potentially dangerous.
