Hearing aids and tinnitus

Hello!

Just a little background, I have had Ménière's disease for about 6 years but was only diagnosed 2 years ago (I am 25 years old). I just had my first baby in December and this summer has been the worst summer I have ever had with Ménière's. It uses to be I would get an attack once or twice a year, then maybe just in June and July, but since June I've had one almost every week (with the exception of the past 2 weeks thanks to seeing a chiropractor regularly now).

When I saw my ENT in July they did a hearing test and recommended looking into a hearing aid in the next year or so since my brain will adjust to it better while I'm young. This whole summer I have had pretty much chronic tinnitus so I'm guessing it will probably continue. This may be a silly question, but how does having a hearing aid effect the tinnitus? Is it amplified because of the hearing aid or not bothered by it?

Thanks in advance! And I'm also glad to have found a community of support as we all journey through this smile

Hi I have a hearing aid but I can't wear it.  My deafness is in my left ear but I also have hyperacusis in that ear so the aid just magnifies the painful sounds.  When it was fitted the man turned it down as low as he was prepared to do at my request but wearing it at home I felt it was contributing to my muzzy feelings and dizziness and making me worse because of the way it magnified ths sounds.  So I am putting up with being deaf (it is only in one ear).

Hello, Just been diagnosed with MD. The blurred vision is the hardest for me. ALthough i do have ringing in the ears its not too bad at the moment. Does anyone else have the constant tension headache that never goes away? Also, does that mean swimming and flying are no go as well? Sorry for all tyhe questions just been very shocked when all i thought i had was a couple of panic attacks. Good luck everyone.
