Hearing aids - I haven't used them for 6 months, do I have to re-train again to use them properly?

Hi All

Apologies, if this is the wrong section.

In March 2023, I was issued digital hearing aids by the NHS for hearing loss, as I have Tinnitus.

I wore then for about 4 months, though I found sounds all a bit overwhelming, IE driving a car down the motorway, out in the town centre etc, generally in my day to day life, my office is quiet, I discovered I really only needed them at certain times, in places where the surrounding sounds were noisy like in a pub to hear speech.

In the end I stopped wearing them, my question is, if I went back to them, to benefit fully, do I have to re-train my brain again to adapt, or can I just place them back in for, as when required?

Thanks
