I get that often, I have a myopathy that affects my muscles, what you felt was probably just a muscle spasms in or around the heart area. if you have acid reflux you should sleep with the head of your bed raised, i have acid reflux daily due to my myopathy and raising the bed helps alot.

Anxiety can make your stomach produce more acid, and if you get a little splash up into your espohogus, you can get sudden pain.

I have an acid stomach and have to be careful what I eat, no coffee late in the afternoon, no cinnamon later in the day, no curries, can have flavoursome food, love it but have to be careful later in the day, no beef or red meat for dinner, no garlic, all of these can make my life a misery for a couple of weeks after eating them.

Highly unlikely you have a heart issue at 19, chances are in the hundreds of thousands that you do.

Look into anxiety issues, learn to understand what triggers your anxiety, learn to deal with it, or even avoid it like I doo with the food listed above, get some counselling it may help, it has for me and husband.

I am one of those people who freaks out when I don't understand something, so Dr's trying to fob me off with an excuse or what sounds like an excuse does not go down well with me, I have to know, even when it is not good news.

I have educated myself about my issues, and husbands, he has serious heart failure issues, has been in hospital 4 times in the last 5 years. Local library was a help for a start from there upgraded to local GP's medical books, with his help, and there onto Dr to Dr papers available on the internet, some of them were terrrifing, which was really scary, but pushed through with the thoughts that I can only help if I know, and have become quiet knowledgeable about our issues to the point I can now ping junior Dr's much to their displeasure, I have saved husbands life 4 times with that knowledge, if i had not got him to the hospital in time he would have perished and snr specialist has approved of my self education, and complimented me on my efforts.

Last time a junior Dr ran foul of me he lived to regret it, the professor snr cardiologist, got involved when I got seriously loud, and has now written a note on husbands file, Take Note, the wife knows what she is talking about and the professor has signed it and printed his name underneath very carefully and neatly.

You would not belive the difference that note on the file makes with the juniors, they treat me as a fellow rather than somebody to be dismissed.

It could be acid reflux or anxiety. I have acid reflux and take prescription meds and I also have low potassium and taking liqiud meds. I can't swallow big pills. I have had Ekg, blood work and other tests for my heart. I see my heart doctor next month. I once had a pain in the middle of  my chest and had my son take me to ER at the hospital. No heart attack! They found I had a problem with my galbadder! But I think it was acid reflux. You should see your doctor or a heart doctor. And you also need meds for acid reflux!
