Heart failure?

Have been experiencing some breathlessness and discomfort under my left breast as well as other symptoms which made me fear of heat failure.

Had an echocardiogram recently. The report by the specialist suggested that  'previous anti-hypertensive therapy may reduce BNP, giving a falsely reduced result.  Comments added as in NICE guidelines...'. it was reported that there was no heart failure and there was an equation of :- pro/L 0.00-47.00mol/L.

Can someone explain these words and numbers, please? Are they actually suggesting that, despite these serious symptoms indicative of heart failure, that this result definitely indicates that this isn't likely to be the case?

Please rewrite with complete senetence .... the beginning is missing.

Because very high levels of serum natriuretic peptides carry a poor prognosis, refer patients with suspected heart failure and a BNP level above 400 pg/ml (116 pmol/litre) or an NTproBNP level above 2000 pg/ml (236 pmol/litre) urgently, to have transthoracic Doppler 2D echocardiography and specialist assessment within 2 weeks.

Your doctor did not explain these to you ?

I'm under a lot of stress right now, so maybe they did explain this, and I didn't take it on board, but there have been communication difficulties with my local GP practice and they do not always make clear what an assessment actually means properly. They just inform the patient that the result is clear... no action...

i presume by the above statement that my chances of having heart failure is not very likely. So perhaps the symptoms I am experiencing are more to do with hypertension? More exercise and stress relieving meditation and quiet moments are what is needed here....?
