Heart flutters, is this a normal side effect of Sertraline?!

Posted , 2 users are following.

Ive been on Sertraline two weeks, started on 25mg and increased to 50mg after the first week. The main side effect I had was upset tummy which has settled now but 2 days ago I started experiencing what feels like my heart is skipping a beat. Its not racing, my heart rate is normal according to my fitbit but if feels like flutters. Has anyone else experienced this?? As I'm super anxious about it and convincing myself it could be dangerous etc!

Yes, I really experienced the heart flutters thus time around on setralinr when i went from 76-100mg. It was awful, constant, and scared me as well. I went to the ER one day it was so bad.

After about a month they have largely subsided with the occasional flutter that lasts for a moment.

I didn't know this was a potential side effect and it freaked me out too. I have since learned that it is a potential side effect, but not a hugely common one.

I would like to hear how it goes for you!

    take care
