Hi

I’m 55 and had asthma since I was 19 brittle asthma but it’s now under control.

I started getting out of breath 2 years ago and told GP it didn’t feel like asthma but recently it’s got worse along with left sided chest pain that’s hard to describe, the pain takes my breath and happens at rest. GP decided to do a blood test and did say I’d had this test 2 years prior but it only came back slightly raised so no action was needed. I got a call a couple of weeks ago telling me I was being referred to cardiologist as my enzymes have come back raised enough to warrant action. I also have a hiatus hernia and sphincter of oddi which GP is aware of but I’ve had that a long time and I don’t get chest pains just pain into my jaw when it’s bad.

Question is. What will happen at cardiologist appointment and should I be concerned?

    Hi,

Sorry to hear you need cardiology.

However, from my personal experience the assessment dide of things is a breese. The blood test is the worst part amd youve had that already.

Cardiology appointment is typically ECG(heart tracing) painless. Just sticky patches head to toe.

Echo, which is also painless. Thats where they don't ultra sound of the heart using the pregnancy style machine. And thats just jelly on chest n back.

The not so fun stuff starts after..... But think of the reward after. Hopfully no more chest pain
