Heart Monitor

Posted , 2 users are following.

I suffer from RLS and have found relief with Neupro (Rotigotine) 3mg patches. On Wednesday I was fitted with a 24 hour heart monitor by my Doctor. On Wednesday  night whilst wearing the monitor  I was back to square one with the RLS and my legs were quite mad! The monitor was removed on Thursday morning  and now the patches are again working to give me relief.  Can anybody explain why the patches did not work for me whilst wearing the heart monitor?

    Hi sashalou

My name is Sharon I have rls too I don't take what you take but I have researched what you said there doesn't appear to be any indications of wearing a heart monitor and side effects of your medication, however it dose say neupro can suddenly stop working then start working again so that may have been a coincidence while you were wearing the monitor,I take ropinerol tablets which I find really helpful and you can take up to 4mg per day so it might be worth looking at changing what you use I know I had to try several different meds before I finally found the right one for me.

    Hope this helps,

    With regards

    Hi Sharon

Thank you for your reply. I have taken ropinirole but I find the patches much better for me.  Ropinirole gave me a ‘fuzzy’ head in a morning and I became a compulsive (and I mean compulsive) shopper!

It maybe was a coincidence that the patches stopped working in conjunction with the heart monitor and I guess that is what the doctor will tell me when I visit in a couple of weeks for my results.

I think that we sufferers should log anything unusual on this site that may lead somebody some day to put 2 and 2 together and hopefully lead to a cure.

Now at least RLS is recognised. and we are able to get relief from the symptoms.

I hope the Ropinirole continues to work for you and thank you again for your response
