The side effects of Levothyroxin are many and vary person to person, but anxiety is very common, agitation and restlessness is also very common. Insomnia also is common. When I wrote down all the side effects I've been suffering I filled an A4 page. It really needs banning. All my side effects also tally with a study by the Danish Poisons Information Center's report on Levothyroxin, which concentrated on overdosing on this drug, well I haven't overdosed quite the opposite as I can't tolerate very much of it, but I have the symptoms of overdosing. Also the long term effects of overdosing are hearing loss, tinnitus and MDIS multiple drug intolerance syndrome, all of which I've developed over the last two and half years since becoming intolerant to Levothyroxin.

Hi Amanda, there are many posts about people who have anxiety and heart palpitations while on thyroid medication.

There are many options to treat thyroid disease. If you’re on levothyroxin, you might want to try switching to an NDT. There are also non prescription thyroid supplements such as ThyroGold- that are very effective. I use essential amino acids therapy to treat my (advanced) thyroid disease.

I’m in the same boat as Rosie and can no longer tolerate thyroid medications at all. Plus I have horrible autoimmune disease caused by the meds. I feel levothyroxin should not be used to treat thyroid disease at all, as there are so many better options out there.
