Heart palpitations

(I'm 39 and overweight 28.6 BMI )

for the past few days i have had heart palpitations, buzzing and mild pain in my heart area. It seems to get worse after food.

Some history of my past conditions may be relevant , for 5 years i struggled with alcohol and stimulant drugs, 3 months ago I quit and i have been sober. I used to have heart palpitation and pain before through my addiction time, so it's not new to me

Since quitting, I've felt pretty good, sleeping well, feeling happy and being able to function normally .

I had one day where I decided to have a bottle of wine, i thought i could control my self and enjoy it responsibly , but I ended up going to get more alcohol and woke up feeling a little rough and disappointed .

So that was 4 days ago, but since then I have had palpitations, buzzing and general discomfort in my chest, when i press down under my left breast, it feels spongey or maybe like it's enflamed . actually it's been like that for some time.

I was wondering what I can do? I was thinking to change my diet to cut out sugar and have a low carb diet. I also want to exercise , but I'm not sure if it's safe to do that?

I have had ECG in the past which is always normal, I've never been told my heart is not healthy before.

thanks for your time, I hope someone with knowledge of this can advise me.
