has anyone experienced heart palpitations after taking Zantac or other H2 blockers? Is that a possible side effect?

i took it for the first time last night and experienced awful palpitations. i have never experienced palpitations like that in my life and i cant think of what else could have caused them

what dose are you on? When I take a high dose I get a weird dizzy feeling. I also get a surreal feeling. Do you have any other symptoms?

i took 150mg because i was having burning in my chest that wasn't going away with TUMS. it did for a while but then it came back. the zantac did help the burning, but about an hour after taking it the palpitations started and gradually got worse. my heart rate was also very high and i got really bad anxiety. this morning the palpitations were gone, but my heart has been racing all day. no more zantac for me! honestly, i would rather have the burning than the palpitations.

I get that way from some antibiotics and have been told it is an allergic reaction. Talk to your doctor and change the meds. there are many out there. Anxiety from worrying about the palpitations can make both the heartburn and the heart race!

i think that must be the case for me because i have never experienced anything like that. i am hoping it is out of my system by now or at least close to being out. i took it at 7:45pm last night and i have been drinking lots of water to try and flush it out

have you tried the double action liquid heartburn relief they are always advertising on these pages or the tablet form? It can help a bit sometimes.
