Heart Palpitations - Funny Feelings

Hello, I am a 35 year old male and have been suffering from Heart Palpitations and weird feelings for 4 years now. It all seemed to start when one day I felt something go through my vain or nerve in my chest - I blacked out for a split second and never felt anything afterthat it seemed like the next day I started feeling these heart palpitations and flushed in the face. this lasted for about a year, and caused great worry. One morning I woke up and felt funny like I could black out and bent over to pick something up and just about did. I went to work and started to feel like I could pass out and then all of a sudden I had this strange sensation i don’t know if it was like pins and needles, but it came over me - from my legs to my tongue and my heart was doing all kinds of weird stuff. I rushed myself to the E.R They did all kinds of stuff and found nothing. After all that, I started to experience times I couldn’t get enough oxygen to breathe this seemed to last a few months but went away. Then I started to feel these weird feelings as I would drive - flushed feelings, papatations and weird stomach pains that seemed tied to my heart and caused a feeling of head pressure. It seemed as time went on and numerous doctor visits these symptoms pretty much went away. About two years ago I went back to the ER thinking I was having a stroke because I had a weird sudden feeling I couldn’t move my arm or leg, but gave myself a terrible panic attack with new symptoms that scared me even more with my hearing that things just sounded unexplainable. I had a stress test done and it was on a day my heart was really going nuts and feelings of passing out, but they found nothing. Anymore, I am just wore out with all this! I can hardly drive without feeling flushed face, panicky, stomach weird like I have to burp and flushed feelings along with Palpitations. I tried all kinds of medications that just seemed not to work. I usely take a Larazapan if it gets to bad and then I am fine the rest of the day. During the days I feel some Palps before and after lunch and most of the time funny feeling in my head or headaches. I have heart palpitations some so crazy when I lay down that I feel there is a concert going on but just repositioning seems to fix it. I feel like I am the only person with this because it’s so hard to explain to the doctor and they just keep telling me it’s anxiety related.

Hi Mark. First off you are not alone. People with anxiety feel all sorts of weird and strange feelings and sensations and I am one of them. Some feelings I just cant explain and to try and tell a dr about it well forget it cause they just dont understand. I get heart palipitations too especially if I am stressed or something causes my anxiety to become worse including hearing my abusive neighbours voice. That sets my heart on a roller coaster ride. If all your tests are fine and your stress test was good ( I had one too) then it sounds to me that you are experiencing anxiety and panic attacks. I suffer all day from weird feelings that make me feel like I am not even in this world and that no one can see me at times. Feels like I am in a dream or a movie that has no ending. It scares me cause I think I am going to disappear into my mind and not come back. I also have constant dizziness and am light headed and my balance can be bad at times like yesterday when I woke up I kept knocking into things and then fell down the stairs and felt weak and my first thought was I am having a stroke but it improved over the day and I know it was me just stressing about what is going on with my house at the moment. Please remember its anxiety and try and get your mind to accept it as hard as it can be. I get some reassurance knowing im not going insane and it calms me down a little. I hope you get some relief soon. Take care.
