Heart palpitations/skipped beats with withdrawals

Hello, it's been about 3 months since I stopped taking effexor at 37.5 mg. Not long after I started getting hear palpitations. I read they were a possible withdrawl symptom and hoped they would get better but if anything they have just gotten worse. I've seen a doctor, they did an EKG and blood work, all seemed clean. Going to get a halter monitor in two days. This is really messing with my life as I'm always fearful of trigger the palpitations and I even cancelled a trip to see my family so I could continue testing. Has this happened to anyone else and does it ever stop?
