Heart Palps, now 4 months in.

Hi all,

Been on 20mg Citalopram since March. Anxiety problems not 100% better, but greatly improved. Recently, i've been getting spells of a few days with a high number of quite distracting skipped/ectopic heartbeats. Anyone else experienced this kind of thing on Cit? It's possible i've got stomach or IBS issues ongoing also; in any case, it ain't helping my recovery at the moment.

not sure on the hear stuff but ive definitely had bowel changes even 5 months in. i probably need the toilet 3 times a day now but id prefer that over how i previously felt.

im also much more tired now and have extreme yawns but my life is so much better.

    good luck with everything.

Don't know if the stomach stuff is cause or effect, or completely coincidental. Anyone else had palpitations on Cit, especially a few months in??

I've been gradually improving on 20 mg over 6-7 months now, and have had no further blips with heart palps for a couple of months now. They tended to be quite frequent for a few days, before subsiding again. Chris.

Still good now nearly 8 months in. GP told me that Citalopram might have reduced my pulse rate slightly (this certainly agrees with my experience of things), and therefore any aggravating factors like stomach problems are more likely to trigger ectopic beats. Can't say for certain...
