Hi all.
New member here. Im 37yr okd female. I have suffered from health anxiety for YEARS! Like 20 of them. Recently i CANNOT shake the racing heart. Palpitations. Lightheadedness when standing. Sometimes i feel actual pain in my upper left chest. I have felt all of this before, but not an all day everyday feeling like it has been for over 3 months now. I am so scared. I am so consumed with this feeling i am driving myself mad. Someone, anyone, please tell me i am not alone. About 1 month ago i did an ER trip. EKG was fine. All blood work was fine. Chest xray was fine. I am convinced i have a valve problem that they missed and its killing me. Please help

I understand exactly what you’re going through and soda millions of other people. Anxiety and it’s accompanying symptoms are extremely common! I’ve had anxiety for over 40 years and had every symptom you can possibly think of. , including lightheadedness, palpitations, skipped heartbeats, floaters in the eyes, ringing in my ears, weakness, numbness and tingling and many more. All my testing that has ever been done has come out normal. That’s how I know it’s all related to severe long-term anxiety and stress and probably depression.
i really doubt that your doctors missed anything but if you want absolute peace of mind you can always get a stress echo test which looks at blood flow and the heart valves etc. I just had one of those and it was normal.
but have you ever tried relaxing your mind with meditations or any other way?have you ever had counseling for the anxiety?
the most important thing for you to do right now is to calm down because the more you stay anxious and fearful, the more symptoms you will have because you’re telling your brain that something is terribly wrong and it’s responding.
just remember that no symptoms related to anxiety will hurt you. I know how scary and weird they are but that’s all they can do. If you’ve had anxiety for 20 years, chances are that your symptoms are related to that because if it was anything related to your heart you would have known by now.
i know how to stop my heart from racing. I found something on YouTube where it’s a short talk and the person guides you through your racing heart and you end up feeling so calm and the heart settles down. search for something called stop panic attack now. Then scroll down to one called don’t panic. It’s in black bold letters. It’s short but very effective! Once you listen to it you can do it anytime anywhere on your own without anybody really knowing.
you don’t have to feel miserable. You can start feeling better by taking a few steps.
3.do things that relax your mind such as taking a walk, relaxing in a bath while listening to soothing music, etc.

You have no idea how much you just helped. I cannot express how appreciative i am for your very detailed response. THANK YOU!
I have seen counselors . Its too expensive for me. And thats sad it has to be that way. My husband has ZERO compassion or tolerance for my anxious thoughts. Or my years of heart attacks. I usually sit in my own head and make things worse. I use prayer a lot. And i will for sure be looking up that youtube relaxing technique.
I cant thank you enough. Stay in touch.

im so glad I helped a little. Yes it’s difficult when people don’t understand what you go through. It’s very difficult to explain it to others. I wanted to also mention there is a book that is helping me tremendously. It’s a book called finding quiet. It’s a white book with a picture of a canoe on the front. It’s about contemplative prayer that I do every morning and sometimes later on. it also tells about how one person overcame anxiety and the practices that brought peace.
iv e Learned that there is nothing worse then living in our own thoughts. Most of our thoughts are not true, they are just fleeting thoughts that often makes things worse. What happens is that after a while your brain starts to believe the false thoughts which after a while becomes habitual. We have to reverse that. It’s a daily process and we have to be patient with ourselves but little by little we can turn it around. And that book helps. Take care ❤

i think its best to chalk it up to anxiety and do some meditation. To be extra safe you could always get a second opinion from a dr also.
