if you have a history of anxiety it’s very possible that is what caused the racing heart even in your sleep. anxiety can be underlying and pop out any time.

Many people are awakened in their sleep due to a racing heart. it’s not harmful. it’s just the adrenaline that causes it.

when that happens, it’s important to begin to breathe properly to settle down the heart rate. you might want to practice ahead of time in case it happens again. Go on YouTube and search for breathing for anxiety or something similar to that.

proper breathing is the key to relaxing the heart rate.

also when you are feeling OK you can listen to relaxing meditations for anxiety. They help me every time. You’re going to be OK. I am going to send you a private message. Take care

good that you can calm it down. please try not to panic about it. i have had the same thing off and on for many years and im in very good health.

when you panic it releases more adrenaline which will increase your heart rate. that’s because when you panic you are telling your brain that something is wrong, so your brain goes into fight or flight mode and adrenaline is released.

try having a more relaxed response to the rapid heart rate. And breathe.
