Okay so this has been happening to me for the past 2 months..I lay down on my stomach cause its the only way i can sleep..When i am at the point of being asleep I feel my heart stop beating and when this happens i get a very sharp quick pain in my head and i wake up from it! I have been diagnosed with panic anxiety disorder but would not explain these symptoms..i am cardiac aware 90% of the day and night..I am really scared to go to sleep anymore so i just stay up as long as i can to the point of passing out at my computer chair...I have had EKG's up the wazoo heart is fine..I have had a CT scan and no enlarged heart or anything they found..Did have a sleep apnea study and no sleep apnea. So i am at a loss on what is going on! Should i make a doctors apointment or go into the emergancy room or what? Any help and to know that i am not alone would be great! Please this is so scary!

Hey doomtucan... you are not alone at all. Its 23h58 right now I went to bed at 21h45 and I was woken up by the exact feeling you are describing at 22h30. I haven been sleeping for 4 days. Im going out of my mind. I thought I wasnhaving a stroke or a heart attack. This feeling goes away when I open my eyes but as soon as I try to fall asleep... it starts. Im very frustrated and scared. I plan to see a doctor Friday or Monday. I feel so dizzy and I can hear my heart beating very loud so Im scared to sleep thinking I might die in my sleep. You are not alone. Im up right now until I go to work. Im exhausted sad
