Heartburn all the time how to manage acidity

Hi I have been experiencing constant heartburn for two weeks now. It started off just with some discomfort in the morning so I switched to a lighter breakfast as the pains stays all day. Over Easter I had acute pain from the upper stomach and lower left rib and had to go to A&E.

Since that the pain has been more intense. I have been prescribed Omeprozole 20mg twice a day by my GP.

The doctor at the hospital prescribed Gaviscon liquid after about 4 days it was starting to make my teeth sensative so I switched to the long lasting tablets.

So I was wondering what is the best way in order to neutralise stomach acids as it seems a lot of antacid makes it more acidic.

    Hi

I have also been suffering with acid reflux for the past 5 weeks. I don't have burning in my chest but I do get burning in my throat. My doctor also prescribed Omeprazole 20mg which helped a bit. They also did a H Pylori test which came back positive. Apparently H Pylori can cause acid reflux. Might be worth asking your GP to test for this.
