Heavy breathing and snoring

I am sitting here typing this at 5/25 am during another sleepless night. The problem is soon after I fall asleep i either start breathing heavy or snoreing. This wakes my wife up then she wakes me up because i am keeping her awake. In the end I have to get up so she can get some sleep.

I am not overweight and dont drink or smoke. I normaly breathe through my nose and sleep on my right side. I have had a test for asthma and that was o.k.

Wish I could find an answer as this is putting a strain on our relationship and we both need a good nights sleep. Tried sleeping in a diffrent room but my snoring gets so loud it still ends up waking her up if it doesnt wake me first.

Have you tried a MAD (Mandibular Advancement Device)? You get them from a dentist but have to pay. - at least £350. There seems to be three main types:

    (1) made entirely of plastic that feels like a golf ball in your mouth (I tried this and not recommended)

    (2) a more streamlined version made of plastic and (?)titanium ( I have just got one of these and it is looking very good)

    (3) one that is made (I think) entirely of titanium - this was featured on a recent TV programme about people with sleep problems - but they cost over £1000

I have no connection - other than as a user - with any dentist/supplier

That could be because of nose closed or thyroid problem, snoring problems faced by the people who actually does excess drinking and smoking, The best solution is try some nasal spray, my father used to snore a lot and from doctor suggestion he started using anti snoring devices from Asonor & it actually helped.
