Heavy, heavy feeling in my limbs

Hi All,

I have cervical stenosis with myolepathy and just recently diagnosed with skin cancer, malignant melanoma, stage one hopefully all now removed. Over the last 2 months my arms and legs feel so heavy to carry about, my legs feel like someone has tied 10lbs of potato to them. I am taking quite a lot of meds for pain etc. but no new meds lately. My cervical spinal cord is pinched at levels c4,5,6 and 7, specifically c6 and c7.

I saw my Neurosurgeon last week and he was especially concerned about my legs and has booked me for a new mri scan. Any helpful comments appreciated.

Mike.

Hi Mike, you are certainly having your fair share of problems. Have you had decompression surgery ACDF for your myelopathy? Heaviness in the legs is a sign of myelopathy. I joined a FB group called 'cervical myelopathy support group, all spine, joint and muscle conditions'. There are over 680 members with myelopathy this would be a good site for you to gain some further info. They have all experienced your type of symptoms and maybe they could help you with any questions you may have. I hope you don't have to wait long for your next MRI.

Hi mike sorry to hear about your symptoms I've had a discectomy with fusion last November from c4 to c7 if you have any concerns regarding symptoms I would contact your gp especially if you have any bladder problems wishing you all the best with everything and there is a great group called myelopathy on Facebook that is run by members suffering from myelopathy

I have myelopathy as well, hard acdf c5-6 6 months ago.. If I had my choice I would have had the surgery sooner. Weakness and heaviness in all 4 limbs has not gone away. Don't wait too long. I also have joined the Facebook group mentioned in the other comments, lots of helpful info and nice people. Good luck.
