Hi, I have been on this forum about gallbladder removal in June  which was successful. I was diagnosed at that time with an aged large hiatus hernia !! Much to  my surprise.

I have symptoms with shooting pain in my right hand side of my stomach,  tighting around my stomach like an elastic band, lots of coughing and chocking, a raw feeling in chest, the usual reflux problems. Strangely enough aches and pains in my arms ? Checking to see if that could be the statins so going back to the docs next week. I am so bloated I look very pregnant ! Has anybody had these kind of symptoms? So help ! Thanks.

    Hi Hedy

Very sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis. These are indeed all  symptoms of HH.Do you know if it is sliding or esophageal hernias?

To ease the symptoms follow a low FODMAP search in google for it and eat in very small portions of food, chewing the food fully .Also search for chiropractic Hernia Hiatus  massage on youtube, this can help with alliaviate some of the symptoms. I am following these steps every day and I can honestly say that I am feeling better, however this depends of the severity of the hernia, my one is sliding 3 cm into my esophagus.

I hope this helps let me know how you get on.

    all the bestbiggrin

Hi nell, thankyou for replying I am going to see the doc next Thursday and will ask type of hh it is. I eat little and often any way. Thankyou for the information I will look into this. The other thing is tiredness. I know it is only 5 3/4 months since my op so this is to be expected now and again. I will let you know after the doctors. Take care xx
