    Hi

Whilst anti inflammatories themselves can cause gastric ulcers, in your case an endoscopy would include a biopsy and that would indicate the presence of h.pylori.

If you are cured of h.pylori there would seem to be no reason for you to be on stomach tablets for life. That is assuming you are not continuing to take anti inflammatories.

You do not say that you were checked after your h.pylori treatment to make sure that treatment eradicated the problem. This would be usually confirmed by a breath test.

In my own case even after h.pylori was cleared, I continued to suffer from some pain for a time until the ulcers were healed. And incidentally the Doctor was reluctant to give me the all clear by giving me a  Breath Test - until I insisted.

PPI's such as Omeprazole are great but should not be taken in the long term

I don't understand why they would treat you for h.pylori if they didn't know that you had it.

But perhaps that's not the point.

The real issue is whether the therapy worked (it doesn't always), and you would have had to have a post therapy Breath Test to find out.
