Helicobactor Pylori

Wife had gastroscopy early Dec. Diagnosed with HP. Given course of Anti biotics along with medication to repair stomach lining. She showed some improvement but in last 10 days has lost all interest in food. She has plenty of fluids but once down they come back up again. Has lost 2 stone in weight and is now constantly gagging and says she feels as if a lump is at the back of her throat.

Has anyone got any advice please. 3 months for a NHS appointment so have decided to go private as I am very concerned.

sad

Hi , Did what you suggested. As well as HP have said she will have to have gall bladder removed.

Never got as far as her op. In theatre when operation cancelled due to no post op nursing care.( This in a large NHS hospital ) She had been rushed into A+E as she was going downhill fast. surgeon found her kidneys failing when he did some blood tests, apparently gastrologist missed it when he did his tests way back in September.!!!!

I am afraid my faith in the NHS has gone and if it wasn't for the surgeon my good lady may not be here now.

She is 100% better after 2 weeks in hospital and her op is now scheduled for 3 weeks time. Thankfully he says she will recover fully in time.

Just thought I'd let you know that my better half has now had her op to remove gall bladder and is on the mend. H.p. appears cleared up, kidneys getting back to normal so hopefully once she recovers from the op things will begin to look up.

    Thanks for the advice Dr,Spock.
