I think it would depend on what kind of pain you are experiencing and how often you experience it. I it generally speaking getting better, or is it getting worse compared, say, to last week?Might it be reflux, for instance, when you are lying down? I think you should contact the surgeon's secretary or specialist nurse so that this can be checked out properly.

well I got surgery on 15 October and had so much pain ended up in the ER, then by Friday ended up back in Alabama worst surgery was done and was admitted for three days on two different kinds of antibiotics. The pain experience now comes and goes but when it’s there it’s bad like when I have the surgery. So I don’t know if that still part of healing or what it could be because they did a CT scan is at the ER and in Alabama And saw a blue and build up of some sort but never Did another CT scan to see if it was gone.

I just had the Robotic Heller Myotomy on October 25 and was in the hospital for 2 nights and the only time it bothers me is when I bend down to pick something up. Have you been mobile? I made sure to walk everyday to help with the healing . I have 7 incisions. I'm back at work today already. Miss my coffee since I'm a coffee drinker Make sure you follow the soft diet.Haven't taken any pain meds for about 4 days now. Everyone recovers differently. Good Luck and hope you feel better soon .

thank you carol . i did follow the strict diet and its now anything except meats or breads unless toast . i seem to hurt laying on my sides . i have had a few acid reflux attacks and a little gurgling so im thinking i just heal slower. i also had gull bladder removed . i have nut cracker esophagus so not sure if this is why im not feeling good yet. i have been active since the next day after surgery. im glad your feeling better already . i see my DR on the 15th so i hope i get good news . good luck on your healing , V

Oh yes it does hurt but I didnt get any for warning from the nurses or doctor when i was released from the hospital.

It takes 6-8 weeks until your normal again but it does happen. Also plan on eating only 2-3 ounces of soft foods. DO NOT over do it! Also no heavy lifting at all! GOOD luck and let me know.
