Hello!
I've had writer's cramp for several years now. I've always thought it started when I learned to take shorthand. It worsened when I had to write grades in tiny boxes for about 100 students every six weeks. When I started experiencing some pain and weakness in my wrist, I went to a doctor who sent me to another doctor who sent me to another doctor. I finally ended up with a neurologist, who diagnosed me with writer's cramp. He mentioned the treatment with injections of botulism, but I decided not to go that route since it is quite expensive and lasts only a few months according to my understanding. I too am teased frequently about the way I hold my pen. Total strangers ask why I "write that way." When some people find out that I am a teacher, they actually scold me for being a "bad example" to students when I hold my pen "the wrong way." It's nice to know that I am not alone in this. I've been quite discouraged lately because the cramping seems to be getting worse and some days I can hardly write.
Thanks for listening.

I also had writer's cramp before, but now it's gone completely ! :D I had it for nearly 10 years as I can remember (I'm 29 now). Yes it can getting worse, I suffured a lot !
I read some Medical Papers and found the reason of this sickness is some thing wrong in the brain, curing it is either dangerous or expensive. But not the whole brain have the problem, if your right hand cramps when writing, it only meant the \"link\" between right hand and the left part of the brain has the \"uncertained small problem\" only when writing. So why don't you tried to write by your left hand, it is easy to do so, just need one or two month to be skilled.
so I suggest you try to use your left hand, it is better than use the medicine, you have to depend on yourself! :D
If you want to contact me, I'll welcome.
(sorry my english is not good :D )
