Hello, our son William stated to complain of pain in his left leg during football practice in november 2005, he started to limp really badley over the next few days and was in a lot of pain. After a visit to the doctor he was sent straight to our local hospital in durham. Admitted and given an x/ray and put on 48hrs bed rest.sent home after 4 days still limping but none the wiser and given an appointment to see an orthopedic dr on the day of the appointment william was still limping and was told that he must have just developed a limp and maybe in 18 months it would disapear. i would not accept this and ask for a second appinion. A month later we were sent for an MRI scan where perthes was detected. he was put in traction for 7 days but 2 consultants had diferent appinions one said it was doing no good the other said it was, after the 7th day the consultant who said it was doing nothing to william cut the traction off and distcharged him and gave us an app. to see the other consultant 4 days later, he put him back on the ward in traction and there we stayed in a side ward for 3 days and know one came to see us. i took the decision to remove william from the hospital and take him to see the consultant who first diagnosed perthes, this i did and has asked a othopedic consultant surgeon to take over the care of william in sunderland hospital as his hip is starting to sublux and he thinks surgery is needed (partial dislocation) this was on the 21 july and we have finally got an app. for 28 october to see mr Dekiewiet. William has been on crutches since may and is in so much pain he limps really badley now he cannot even climb in the bath anymore, i only hope something is done next month as i am at a loss as what to do now. There seems to be no one to turn to out there.

I have asked a very good acupuncture practicioner ( he was a lecturer of acupuncture at TianYin university in China) weather he can help, and he told me this was called bone numbness there, and that he probably could help.
I have to wait that they release my kid from the hospital in order to go see him again. I live in Croatia.
On the net I found that the acupuncture, acupressure and chinese herbal tretments all help with solwing the innitial problems of bad blood income in to the ball head. Thus they speed up the whole process. Also, they are quite sucsesfull at removing pain and inflammation.
