    Hi Laura

I two have been on sert 50mg for 4 weeks and 100 mg for one week for anxiety and panic attacks. At first it made me worse and I went back to the doctors and got a beta blocker propanamol not sure about the spelling. This helps with the heart racing. I did also get a small amount of diazepam although these are only for short term use. It's still early stages yet so they will take a little time to kick in. I too had a couple of good days but am still struggling. Just hang in there and remember your not alone x

Hello: It took me about a month on this medication to start to feel comfortable doing what I previously couldn't do because of panic. I couldn't even go to the store or sit through church it was so bad.  It just seemed like "all of a sudden" the panic was gone and I was feeling much better. Give it time. You may need a higher does but I'd give it a month at the higher dose as this is what my doc recommended. I still get uncomfortable in some situations but then I use a very small dose of xanax and I'm good. Good luck!

I'm replying to this but I do not feel i will be of much help. You say "my faith in God has really plummeted" My 316 faith is at an all time low. I started serraline 25mg at the start iof this month. After a week I collapsed at work falling off a chair and then coming to on the floor. I had to tell my employers. Then the DVLA and now I cannot drive until cleared to and that could take months. I was signed off for two weeks. The DWP then tell me I do not have enough credits to receive SSP. That is because when i first started my job it was a zero hours contract until a client base was built up. No I may have fainted because thay found my BP was low, or it could be my diabetes, or it could be the sertraline.

My faith in God has really plummeted too. Of course I may be seen as a fool for trying to have faith. So don't any one tell me wahat I'm thinking already! I wish all ther best Laura. I'm of no help but receive my reply in the spirit of care. I wish we could all be happy!

It took ages to work with me and my OCD & depression. I didn't really feel any benefits until after 12 weeks. I went from 50 to 100 to 150 and then in the maximum 200mg for Sertraline. When I started Sertraline it was horrible where I suffered with insomnia, OCD was more severe and I was depressed. I came off Clomipramine before starting Sertraline so it completely sucked for 4 months.

Much better now and have felt great since Jan and I will stay on max dosage now for foreseeable future.

Basically keep going on the Sertraline and have regular visits with your doctor and therapist.
