Help!

Hi all I posted before saying ' should I go to the doctors'. I've been so busy and I've not had time to make an appointment. Can I ask my doctors for a nurse or does it need to be my GP doctor or can it be a nurse, I would prefer it if it was a nurse. I am going into hospital on Monday and I can't holding the doctors off. I keep feeling happy the one minute so angry and want to hit someone and cry. What is that? I've been having it for a while now?

Thanks

Don't really understand your question Megan. What are you needing a Nurse or GP for? Why are you going to Hospital? Is it all Doctors you dislike or would you be ok with a Female? If so, you can see a Lady.

Sorry for the confusion I've not been thinking straight at all. I've been like this for ages I've been trying to get to the doctors I just didn't have time but now I am going into hospital for a op I won't have time to make one. Can be a nurse that I can speak to or does it need to be a doctor?

      Thanks

You will primarily speak to a nurse. So a nurse is fine. 😀

Some health insurance companies have nurses on stand-by that you can talk to on the phone about your health problem. Inquire if your company has one.

    Hi,

You can talk to a nurse but if you are deemed to have a mental illness you will probably need to see your GP. If you don't like your GP find another one. My GP has been great but most of my mental health care has been via a phychiatrist, who has also been great. You also need somebody who can look after your long term wellbeing, mental health does not usually come with quick fixes. Your GP can provide that long term help.

Mental health issues are common so your GP ought to be used to dealing with them. They are unlikely to judge you. They are also in a position to refer you to more specialised help if necessary, be that CBT, primary mental health care, CAT etc.
