My daughter is 14 years old and has been suffering the Post Viral Chronic Fatigue sine the 2 of February 2016 . We have not been given much information re this problem and have mixed options on the net ! Looking for sites for advice and how people have been helped. , we live in Guernsey in the Channel Islands and I feel that every step of our Journey so far has taken so much time to get help , re physio / education and Drs appointments ! Any advice very much appreciated x

Hi there, check out TYMES Trust (http://www.tymestrust.org) they were so so helpful for me and they send out newsletters regulary (and a birthday card which is really nice!). I was diagnosed with Post Viral Chronic Fatigue at 14 too and remember endless hospital appointments etc. The biggest thing I would say is, even if she is unable to do anything, please try and have friends over for her, even to sit with her with a movie on. I didn't have this and by the time I was out of bed I'd lost touch with school friends so much and never got that back, I think its something I still find hard and would try and stop that lonliness happening to someone else at that age. Take it slowly, try not to let her push herself too much - if she needs a rest, rest. Its the best way, you cant rush recovery here! I managed to get 2 GCSE's (home tutor) and 2 A-levels (done over 3 years) so there is hope you'll see so many different recommendations on the best way to manage the illness, just take time, avoid stress, eat healthy (I have real problems with refined sugar as it sends my blood sugar low so try to eat foods to keep that at a good constant), and rest when needed. Good luck x
