Hey, I'm very worried recently I have started having flax seed in my breakfast, about 2hours later I am having wind pains in my abdomen, the past couple of days this has passed, it did today but then with in half hour and without any signs I had dark green Diarreah, I felt like I needed

To pass wind and when went to soon realised it was more than that, close shave is not the answer but blimey i am so glad I am at home this morning, has anyone else suffered like this from flax seed, or should I be more worried!??

It sounds like a reaction to flaxseeds if you had these symptoms within two hours of eating them. Cut them out of your diet and do not worry.

Hi Pippa, I'm not sure if it is the flax seed or not! I thought it was supposed to help with IBS which is why I started taking them๐Ÿ˜ž CAnt seem to win what ever i try!

I will stop taking them as these pains have only been the past few days which ties up with when I started having flax seed! Xx

This is why IBS is so hard to treat because everyone reacts differently to treatments.

We all react differently.. I started to keep notes and on 'good day' I wrote down what I ate and continued eating those foods for a couple of days.. then I introduced a food (choclate/onions/garlic/cruciferous veg in small amounts and at different times of the day to see if they were 'triggers' .. chocolate is a trigger for me and so is garlic also most green veg except peas and I can eat carrots. Porridge suits some people but I cant tolerate it .. it's all trial and error. If I were you after your upset with the flax I would eat something really bland like rice and chicken until your tummy settles and heals.

Simple answer, cut out flax seeds. They might help some people, but the thing about IBS is that everyone reacts differently. IBS cannot be cured, but you can learn to manage and control it. Unfortunately there isn't a quick fix, so I'd be very wary about any particular food or product which claims to be the answer. What is right for one person, might be entirely wrong for you.

I'm still very delicate today after my flax seed episode! Suppose takes a few

Days to get out of your system! ๐Ÿ˜ž Xx
