Too scared to take diazepam despite feeling anxious for 3 weeks and not sleeping or eating.

Can anyone tell me if it will make me more anxious?

Hi Faye.. .the diazepam will 100% calm you down and make you feel much better. What strength of tablets did the doctor give you?

Please don't be afraid to take one when things get too much. Diazepam is addictive but only if you are taking them everyday for a month or 2.

They will make you feel much better.

    Hope this helped

Don't be scared Faye. If you take it as prescribed for a short period of time you will not get addicted. Try even taking just one a day and see how you are with that. Not sleeping and eating will only make the anxiety worse and it is a vicious cycle. If you are that afraid maybe even try taking a half of a pill twice a day. I'm sure you will notice the difference.

    Good luck.

I'm more scared it'll make me anxious than the addiction to be honest. I've not got an addictive nature. I'm worried it'll make me panic 😩

NO, Faye it definitely won't make you feel more anxious.....just the opposite actually.

Hi Faye - I've never heard of it making anyone more anxious.  The first time I ever took something for anxiety it was like a miracle.  Unfortunately when taken regularly for too long they can be a disaster but I promise you your anxiety is unfounded.  OK, that sort of came out weird.  The medicine will not make you anxious.  My mother was prescribed when my little brother died.  She is apprehensive about all medication.  We got her to take a half dose the first time and it was a blessing for her.  Perhaps you could try that.  Best wishes.

    Hi Faye,

It is a great medication for short term use. I agree with the others to take half a dose and see if it helps.

I became physically addicted to it because my doctors continued to prescribe it for sleep. I was on it 2 1/2 years.

    Good luck and feel better.

Hi Faye.  Wish me luck.  I'm tapering after 22 years Xanax and Klonopin together.

      Hi Musiclover,

Good luck to you as taper. Keep us posted as to how you do.

      Faye,

I'm interested to know if you have taken any of the diazepam and if it has helped at all.

Hi Faye, the diazepam will 100% calm you down, it won't make you anymore anxious. You will have to wait around 20 mins before it kicks in but once it does you will start to feel calmer.
