    Hi.

i changed from 40mg Citalopram to 150g of venlafaxine. As I changed over I personally didn't experience any adverse effects.

the issue I do have with venlafaxine is I get night sweats, I have put on weight (that might just be that as I'm feeling better I'm going out again). I also find that if I miss one dose I suffer from withdrawals.

however after years I have finally got my life back, I can cope so much better and am no longer almost constantly suicidal, I venture out of the house, and have started to socialise again.

i appreciate everyone is different but certainly helped me.

    good luck x

    Morning.

it did take about 4 weeks to notice any great difference?

the only advice I can give you is try to make sure you take them at the same time every day, with quite a decent amount of water.

really hope they work for you, I know some people really struggle with them, but for me they have been great.

Don't worry about my time, I'm more than happy to help if I can, I know how horrific it can feel trying to find the right medication.

If all goes okay today im due to take 37.5mg for a week then double the dose next week.. i really hope they work two iv felt so nervy and my aniexty levels have been so high these past three days but i think i may be working myself up to takin these new tablets.

I know there a slow release so wont take effect straight away!

      So frustrating isnt it

      Frustrating isn't the word.

try and stick with the plan. And I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry about it.

i don't know how you deal with anxiety but if I'm in a mess I have to break the day into hourly chunks, or even 5 minute chunks and deal with that!

im sure you wouldn't have been prescribed them if your dr didn't think they would help. My psychologist put me up to 40mg of Citalopram for a few months before he tried the venaflaxine.

      xx
