HELP!

My Feratin levels have dropped from Sept 2017 from 19 to Dec 2017 to 9!  BUT I am not anemic, what can the cause of my low Feratin be?  I also have a mal-absorption of the gut, been diagnosed with Crohns Desease and have a hiutius herna in the gut. I take B12 injections every 3 months and have an underactive thyroid condition as well as currently going through the menopause so all in all totally fed up!

Could I be loosing blood internally?  GP now going to put me on oral iron and see if that

does anything.

Hey, your feratin is much higher than mine. I was just slightly anemic. My iron level was 3, almost 0. I must have been in your state many months ago. This is very dangerous and I suggest you to take iron pill everyday in empty stomach with orange juice. It will cause discomforts but it is worth it. Otherwise, you will end up as me. I found out only when I got major panic attacks five months ago and then fear of horrendous vision completely drove me nuts. I thought it was anxiety and panic attacks and went to psychologist but didnt help until I was diagonised with iron defeciency. help yourself before you feel like a living dead. I have been taking iron suppliments and having food rich in iron. Get well soon!

A forum like this is no replacement for proper medical advice. Good luck with your treatment. They have  not discovered the cause of my anaemia which has been treated with iron infusions for over two years.
