Help!

I was diagnosed yesterday and feel like I have fallen off a cliff. In February I was running 10.5 min miles, an England Athletics running coach and now I am struggling to get out of bed. I don't know what is happening to me. I have always been so fit and healthy.

Can anyone reassure me that with prednisone I will be able to get back to running?

    Hi Susan

I don't normally comment here but your predicament sounds familiar to me.

I was diagnosed with GCA in Oct 2015. I did run much back then but i rode a bike 4 to 6,000 k a year before that. I struggle with getting up in the morning. The preds dragged the life out of me. My Doc told me to put my feet up and rest. I had a hard time listening to their advise. I continued to ride threw the winter and the following summer. I found that there was a time in the day that the drugs had the lest effect and I scaled back my distances. I have been off the preds for a year now to the surprise of my Docs. So for what is worth yes there is life after Preds you just have to adjust your expectations to your bodies condition. You know the rules in learning how to run slow small distance find what you are capable of and don't push to hard it's like you are learning to run all over again

    Good luck
