    A pimple?

It might be weird, but maybe if you post a picture of it the people here might be able to identify it.

Also, when he has an erection, it causes the skin to stretch so it might be more visible.

Nicky, it is good that you are concerned about his penile health. You need to specify exactly where this was, as, depending on location defines the likely issue it is.

So, near the base close to the testicles? Further up the penile shaft, say around mid-way between top and bottom? Unfortunately, around the tip and just below the head can have a multitude of causes and visual appearance: so was it in this location, and if so can you try and describe it precisely?

No, I don't think you are losing it - sometimes it is difficult for males to confront within themselves when there is an kind of issue to do with the penis.

Top half or lower half? Bumps on the lower / underside of the penis are typically pimples (as suggested) or blocked skin pores or ingrown hair follicles. When they get to the stage of having a white pus inside they are infected. They will have the appearance or a micro or miniature boil and the colour of them is usually different to the skin around it, usually having an angry red appearance on a white skinned male.

If this sounds like what he has these are treated with pure liquid antiseptic (TCP in the UK) and this should be dabbed directly onto the bump 4 or 5 times a day until it starts to subside, then 2 or 3 times daily, when almost healed, 1 or 2 times until it is completely gone.
