Help 😓

Been on citalopram in the past and they were great.

I've been on 20mg for just over a week increased from 10mg and I dont feel good at all.

I'm so depressed! Like something I've never felt before. It's so scary and my anxiety is really high too.

Did anyone else feel like this when they increased.

Someone please help I'm terrified 😭

I know how you feel but not from this medication. I have had this effect from other SSRIs. Have you called your prescribing Dr.?? Go back to 10mg and don't increase until you've seen your Dr. Maybe you went too high too fast. I went to 20MG over a couple of months, started at 5MG. I'm now at 10MG and will stay here for a while before decreasing dosage because I am experiencing some intrusive memories. Don't panic! Perhaps this is not the med for you, bodies change and circumstances do also. Remember this is the DRUG and it will STOP but you can't just stop taking it altogether, you have to taper off. Talk to your Dr.

Hi I thought you had recently changed to setraline. Have you now gone back to citalopram?

hey sir x yeah sertraline was just really awful for me x I thought I was going crazy at one point. twice I ended up at a crisis centre as I was in such a state x

I'm hoping the break from citalopram has done me good or staying at a higher dose for more than the 11 weeks will help. I'm terrified nothing will work for me atm x

Yes it is scary. I am the other way round. Years on setraline and then seemed to stop working. Changed to citalopram and that was the worst 15 weeks of my life. Last six months back on setraline but anxiety still bad. Only on 50 g as when I tried increasing by 25 g became very agitated. It is frustrating I know waiting to feel better. Hope your increase in citalopram soon has some positive effects.

so you've gone back onto sertraline now? for 6 months? and it hasn't helped at all?

would the increase help if you can get past the agitation?

or did you try and it was too much x

what is your plan going forward?

HiJust going to see how it goes. I am not going to increase dosage as really cant cope with side effects. Doing meditation as some excellent ones on you tube and breathing exercises. Felt terrible this morning very shaky inside and out but this afternoon fine. Get loads of exercise with dogs as walk at least 5 miles a day so physically as fit as a fiddle - just my head in a mess  Luckily I only have anxiety with no depression and have absolutely no worries so should be as happy as a sandboy!! I am sure you will see a ray of sunshine soon.

thank you sir for replying x since you've been back on the 50mg? maybe after six months it would be a good idea to increase if the anxiety is too bad.

what side effects stop you from doing it do you think? x
