im a cna. one of my residents with special needs had herpes. he was born with it. while doing a care. he accidentally touched my arm with the infected area he has on his mouth. I got a rash and that went away. but the stress built up. I got a blood test done. but it came up negative for hsv2. put positive for hsv1 but i was always born with it. it was justbdormant for awhile.. I'm scared that I have hsv2. but didn't get the blood work done on time. I got cold sores that are just no5 wanting to heal despite being 2, and a half weeks in. they are a little bit. but I keep getting more and more symptoms like a felling of being sick. burning sensations throughout my body. I have what looks like dry skin on my genitalia area. but it's painless. I'm worry it's shedding. what do I do? I'm scared ill be stuck like this forever. and the cream I'm using for the cold sores aren't working. been scared to even go to my gym that I use to relieve stress is embarrassing because of my cold sores. what should I do? I'm also worried I didn't build up enough antibodies for the hsv2 test to work. any suggestions? that was roughly 2 months ago. but the test was a few weeks ago. was it accurate?

if he has coldsores on his mouth then it is most likely HSV1. you will only be at risk of HSV2 if you touched an open sore on his genitals with your genitals or mouth (less likely)... which from what you are saying you havent?

also, if you do have HSV2 on youe genitals, it wont be from your clients mouth touching your arm
