Help...3 weeks on 100mg of Sertraline feeling terrible

Posted , 6 users are following.

Hi everyone,

I started on 25mg of Sertraline for 3 weeks, the 50mg for 2 weeks and then l have been on a 100mg for 3 weeks.

I feel dreadful and so tired. Headache, sick, sore eyes, puffy ankles, fingers, knees and eyes plus a lot more. Really very unwell.

Will this pass, need reassurance if poss.

Thanks

Hi Sophie, have this side effects started when you upped your dose to 100? You havr increased quickly so it will take time for your body to adjust. Going up from 50 to 100 is a big jump. Are you on it for depression? Maybe a trip to the docs could reassure you a bit. Stay strong... x

hi Sophie. I also went to 100mg from 50mg and it took 10 weeks on the 100 before i had any really good days. Now thats all i have at 13 weeks. Its a hard journey to stick with. But im glad I stuck with it. I would also suggest a reassuring visit to your doctor but unfortunately it sounds like the journey most of us have been on.

So glad to hear this Karen. My daughter is on a similar journey. 6 weeks on 100 and just increased to 150. Better days but still up and down with bad days in between the good. Such a roller coaster! I'm so hopeful for her that the good days will outweigh the bad soon. Did you experience the ups and downs along the way too? What was your timeline?

Hi. I am in the same boat, upped from 100mg to150mg & still feelin rotten, yes there has been times of feeling bit better but then I get a kick in the butt again! hot, wobbly, sick stomach etc., but seems for anxiety it takes 4 weeks plus to kick in. so I am like, OK today is 21 days, 5 hours and 32 seconds - lol... I also think I am thinking about how I will be today & thats before I get out of bed!! But I have DR in a weeks time for her to review how myself & lustral are working. so we will keep at it... I keep telling myself "This too will pass" or "its all good" I use to go "Oh GOD" but seems this sends a message to my brain that I am in trouble and it makes anxiety worse, so, its a work in progress! we will get there x
