Hi everone Ive just found this site & registered,

I was on Citalpram for almost a year & After the usual 3 weeks of hell, I felt great. A check up with the GP when he decided he would change them to Prozac. They just didn't do it for me, so he has now put me on Sertraline.

Will i now have to go through the stages of getting used to these again.

Thanks in advance.

I've been given 50 mg sertraline and I'm really worried about taking them as I've read alot on here about night sweats, shakes, headaches just really not nice things but then after a week or 2 they feel a little better. I went to my doctors and told him how I felt and he said not everyone has side effects but alot do but he said to try them because they are good, people on here have said they have there ups and down days. Hopefully that's helpful in way.

      Thanks for your support.

I've only been on them since Saturday, feel very thirsty & tired. Just hope they don't get worse.

hi how long did you give the prozac and what was the dosage as they had no side effects on me and worked well after about 5 vweeks but a have been on sertraline for about 8 weeks 4 at 5omg and 4 at 100mg a would say starting them and the increase are the times whe you get side effects a had terrible ones bur were all different but that is them leveling themselves out in the body well so a doctor said and i would agree because after having good days and bad days am having more good days now it is worth giving it up till the 8 weeks a hope all goes well take care.

I was on Citalpram when I first went on Anti-Depressants, but they didn't work for me, Sertraline is definitely the way forward, and definitely works, what dosage are you on.

This forum is amazing, really helpful and puts your mind at rest with any problems or worries

I am on 50mg now, but a year and a half ago I was on 100mg, which really helped me, came off them and six months later I am back on them,i think I came off them too quickly. The side effects are different for everyone, for me it is the shakes and feeling sick. The side effects lasted 2-3 weeks and that's when u finally feel they are working. Keep positive they do work x

I will keep taking them,as I did the Prozac. I started Prozac in November, they were fine at first then at Christmas I keeped feeling very faint. Contacted the GP he just said hang on in there. Then this week I told him I felt like I had a hang over every morning & very scared, as the day went on I felt better.

So on Friday he changed them to Sertraline 50 mg.
