HELP 4 weeks on Sertraline

Hi I have health anxiety and about 6 weeks ago it completely spiralled out of control. I had blood tests and scans and they found a polyp in my uterus and I had to have an op on Monday to have it removed and luckily all ok. 4 weeks ago I was put on sertraline and first couple of weeks horrible and barely got out of bed which is so unlike me as I also work full time and have a 5 year old. I was really hoping the tablets would start to work at least a bit after 4 weeks, I know they are not a magic cure but I still have a bit of a fuzzy head and a knot of anxiety most of the time. Doc won't Increase me yet and to be honest I don't want to if I can help it. The other main thing is my sleep, I can get to sleep but I wake up after about 3/4 hours sweating and can't get back to sleep which is making it worse Beause I worry about that. I have lost a stone in 5 weeks as I couldn't eat , I am forcing food down as I am desperate to feel better. I also feel numb like can't cry if that makes sense. Please tell me this will get better as I am so scared I won't feel better x

Nat I have read on quite a few forums about burping a lot in the meds but apparently it does settle down after a couple of months.

i was 6 weeks yesterday 2 weeks on 75 and I am definitely feeling 90 percent probably all I have left is the early waking like 5am grrrr but getting to sleep at night is heaps better now not having to take sleeping pills anymore.

i must admit I still feel a bit "wired" if that's such a feeling lol.  I notice myself not relaxing and quite tense a lot of the time but I think that will settle down too.

The fact that you are able to eat a little bit is great look at it like a positive take each day as it comes and if you have a sh*t day think tomorrow will be better.   You couldn't eat at all a few weeks ago so you are a little bit better.

My my eating is back to normal now and I lost 10kgs which is huge ..

i drink ink chamomile aswell and even green tea which I have read both are great for anxiety.

keep going you will find more improvements in the coming weeks xx

Just finished 7 weeks on 50 and doc has upped me to 75 from yesterday. She wanted me to go to 100 but I said I would try 75. Yesterday didn't feel good and this morning felt really sick with really bad headache and crying thinking I won't ever get better so back about 100 steps. The anxiety was beginning to creep back in from the beginning of this week so that's why I went up.  I haven been able to go to work this nornihg because of feeling sick and headache. My sons nativity is this afternoon and I am going to go but so upset I feel so bad again sad

Hi Natalie2608, I'm currently on week 3 of sertraline and am experiencing a few of the downfalls you did (unable to cry, increased anxiety etc) and was just wondering how you feel now? I'm starting to lose hope a little and I'm meant to be going away with my boyfriend this weekend to Paris. Something I really want the both of us to enjoy, especially after the last three months. Its so hard being fine one day and not the next.
