I'm totally not good at all today , stayed in bed all day , feel I can't face the works ever again , I've let my boy stay home today (he's 9)

Really feel I should be in hospital or somewhere , can't think straight

Have you been to yr gp? Are you taking meds? If not you should see you GP and get some help.

I was like that abt 4 weeks ago. I am fine now. Been on antidepressants for 2 months now and am back at work after having 6 weeks off.

    Get some help.

    Good luck

Best of luck lucy.... Im sure I speak for everyone here when I say that too. One thing I would say is make sure you and someone you trust knows your rights whilst you are in hospital, (incase you want to leave). Make sure you eat, (appetite sometimes goes), and I think seeing your boy would lift your mood.

I stay away from the news, newspapers and the radio,- (sad songs can come on the radio and can make you tear full).

I would stick to your favourite songs on your phone / mp3 player etc.

I watch as little tv as possible, (too many adverts and depressing tv programes) - but if you do, watch something you like thats not downbeat.

Keep yourself showered, clean teeth, etc daily, - its surprising how little things like freshening up by showering lifts your mood, even if temporary.

(Also I like a hot chocolate this time of year)

Try and find a friend or two whilst you are in hospital to socialise with.

Small steps at a time, don't be hard on yourself, all this is not your fault.

That would be my advise for you at the moment.

If you can, keep everyone informed here, you are by no means alone.

(I'm not perfect myself, but I wanted to post this for you today)
