They will be doing a ct scan and Mri to rule out any thing wrong with the organs etc bright red blood means it's something lower down and will be easier to look at and sort if there is a problem
I don't like diagnosing over the forum as I would need his history lifestyle etc
I would speak to your doctor and ask if they have found anything and that your really worried
They would lentil know if the biopsy came back or if they have found anything assets all my patients I tell
Them to keep away from google as every symptom is cancer on there
The doctor is doing the right thing and sending him for the right examination
To let you know 90% of patients coming into my ward with blood coming from there back passage isn't cancer so try not to worry
I hope every thing turns out well for you both

I've just read your advised to Linda.
Was wondering if I can ask you a question. I had a colonoscopy October last year and after 2 colonoscopies being normal ( just diverticulosis and internal piles) . This one they found a 5mm tubular polyp with low grade dysphasia. My doctor and the surgeon that did the colonoscopy wasn't worried but I can't help worrying. Should I worry or listen to them and have another one in 3 years time. My brother had a cancer ( polyp removed .
Please help.
I'm sorry Linda for asking this to Kevin on you thread. I hope everything goes well with your husband. But sounds like his doctor is good.

To explain it there's different grades if polops yours is low Periactin 5mm is a little bigger than normal but because it's low grade it just means you have a slightly higher chance if it tuning malignant . But your surgeon is doing the right thing and monitoring it.Usually every 18months to 2 years for another colonoscopy .
I honestly wouldn't worry as if they had any doubt be sending you for a CT scan and Mir
Polops are very slow growing but patients who were found to have low Periactin polops didn't go on to have cancer hope this helped and just enjoy your life and try not to worry you will be fine

no it's just a precaution I have taken biopsies thinking it looks suspicious and it's came back from the lab as normal so no it's always better to get the scans done as a precaution I know you must be feeling helpless and no matter what your told you will still worry but we're just human and worry anyway please let us know how you get on Thursdays not a couple of days away but the scans will put your mind at rest along the with the biopsy results

Hi Kevin,
I have recently noticed a faint trace of blood a mucus in my BM, a few weeks ago I passed a rather large, painful BM so I'm wondering whether I've torn something and it's bleeding every time I pass a stool.
I don't have any abdominal pain that's out of the ordinary, no weight loss (I can't seem to shift weight at the moment)!!! Fatigue?? I'm always tired so that's nothing new.
I've got an appointment tomorrow with my GP, I have colon and bowel cancer in my family so I'm obviously concerned.
I am 42 years old, reasonably healthy but could be better I guess, who couldn't???
Any advice is welcome

Hi Laura
All I can say is your doing the right thing and getting a doctor to see you
it can be many things mucus and bleeding can be anything from ibs , diverticulitis ,or inflammation and many many more things
They will get you a referral to see a specialist many also take a stool sample To see if there's blood inside your still As well
I know it's hard but try not to worry your still very young to have. Cancer but it runs in your family so seeing a doctor is the best bet
Then you can take it from there good luck tommorow please come back and let us all know how you are getting on there's some great people on here and it's great to share and talk to people who have gone through what you are at the moment
Take care
