So I had unprotected sex with someone on Thursday. I've slept with them before but this time he performed oral sex on me. The next day I felt weird down there. Thought it was all the friction from the sex. By the weekend I was in utter pain. Thought I had a yeast infection because had just taken two rounds of antibiotics during the month of December. Tried Monistat for a day and took that one dose pill. Nothing. Didn't feel better was getting worse. Went to hospital and didn't tell dr I had unprotected sex cause I was scared she said it was. a very bad yeast infection and said skin may be irritated cause it's so bad. Next day I went back to hospital because I took a pic of myself and when I looked I saw blister type things. Told them the truth this time and dr told me this was a classic case of herpes. He took samples so still waiting to hear what type. Also prescribed Valacyclovir 2 pills twice daily. I'm thinking it was from his mouth. He says he's never experienced anything. I don't know what to think. This really sucks. I've been off of work for a week and off for another because it hurts.

The pain will subside in about one more week. Make sure you take the medicine prescribed to you and there's a possibility you won't have another outbreak! You will be okay!

What do you mean I won't have another outbreak?

Sometimes after the first initial outbreak, people never get another one. Or if they do, they are much less severe and it's just a little itch.

My first 3 years after my initial outbreak I took my meds every day and never had another outbreak. As soon as I stopped my meds, I got 2-3 a year max. Nothing but an itch.

So I talked to the guy I slept with and he says he went to the dr and he has a scab on side of his penis. Dr told him it's not herpes just a scab from friction. Gave him Azithromycin to take. I don't know what to think now. Plus I'm worried now about HIV. It's the waiting game now and I'm so stressed.
