I have not heard of Vit D3 doing that.  Try getting a practitioners' brand of Vit D3 forte drops - they could work better for you as they do me.

Taking Vit D to counter too much Iron is false.

Low Vit D and high Iron will cause fatigue

To be told to take that much you must be anemic in which case I expect your calcium to also be low if this is the case.

I did not read that Kathy's dr expected it to counter high iron levels.  However, a deficiency of Vit D does cause some of the same symptoms as haemochromatosis does, eg. aches, pains, fatigue, depression, weakness, etc. there is a huge list.  Her dr would have recommended Vit D to help relieve her symptoms.

A blood test found me to be deficient in Vit D even though I have great access to sunshine and took double dose Vit D tablets to try to increase my Vit D levels. Some people just don't absorb Vit D, same for Vit B12.  My dr put me onto good brand Vit D3 forte drops (6 drops per day = 6000 iu).  My blood levels were elevated at the next blood test.  I continue to take them because I have come to know how important a good level of Vit D is.
