So, I went through terrible withdrawal of an antidepressant, and along the way have developed insomnia. Saw a sleep specialist and he explained to me what I was doing to myself. Basically, right as I am drifting off, I startle awake and wont let myself fall asleep. I started it during the withdrawal which was related to fear that something was wrong with my body. Now that withdrawal is over, I still have the insomnia. anyone out there experience this??

You have withdrawal syndrome, it’s common with antidepressants and can last for years, I have been off venlataxine for 1 and half years and still suffering withdrawal insomnia although it’s starting to improve now, join this forum for help with your situation: www.survivingantidepressants.org
