i am new here. I was Citalopram for 9 years and was doing fine until last August then all he’ll broke lose due to health and family issues. I was on 20mg but they could not increase it due to my QT interval was high. Started to wean me off and when I went to 10mg my Qt normalized so I could not go any higher. In the last year I have tried a variety of ADs but nothing. Did talk therapy and CBT but too anxious. Sorry should have added that I was diagnosed 9 years ago with GAD. Fast forward to now and Pysch put me on Zoloft. Started with 25mg for 3 days and felt dizzy, stomach upset but was tolerable. Then I went up to 50mg and have been on it for 3 days and I am feeling horrible. My head has intense pressure, dizzy, feel drunk like, tons of anxiety which Clonzepam now seems not to work as well. Not able sleep well also. I am not focused and my head feels very weird, not real sometimes. Just overall sickness with nausea but no diarreh(yet...thank God). The physical symptoms are bearable.. I can’t stand the this heavy stuffed weird head feelings. I don’t feel like myself. Is this normal and how long does it last. I want to succeed on these as others did not work but this is the worst start up side efffects. When will the mental issues subside

I was on celexa for 12 years same exact thing happens to me it just stopped working it didn’t work as well at all. So I slowly cross tapered from Celexa to Zoloft. Which I am on 200 MG right now and it is working fine. I am also diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder. Also I have a heart issue too. But yo anwser your question your body will get used to the Zoloft, it took nearly 6 months for me and it is now just starting to work. As far as the Klonopin I have been in it for 10 years, same dose guess I got lucky. But you can build tolerance to it. Try asking your psychiatrist if you can up the dose every 2 weeks. Now remember Zoloft isn’t for everyone but if you might feel like crap now during the start but it will get a whole lot better it is normal to feel this way. As far as “mental issues” my friend they never subside. We learn how to overcome them and pay no attention to negative thinking. Distract yourself, listen to a book. Go on YouTube and try meditation. It works at least for me. I wish you the best of luck and good health for the future to come.
