Today I was diagnosed with HSV 1 and 2. I knew I had 1, have had it my whole life. I've been married 10 years, how did this happen?

was it on blood work or swabs?
did they say hsv1 genitally?
have you ever had any genital symptoms?

blood work. no other symptoms. she said I had 1 and 2.

wow thats strange!
unless your partner had hsv2 and your body could help it since having hsv1! its not very common to see both!
was your partner tested? what made you get tested if you dont mind me asking?

I've heard that, that it is rare to have both. I just had my annual pap and told my doctor I wanted to get tested for everything. she said that it is possible that it has laid dormant for years and I never had any symptoms. she said my husband could have it and not know it.
