hi can anyone help. i have taken citlapram for many years on 20mg and it helped i then had a panic attack whilst pregnant and went up to 30mg then 40mg i still didnt feel right so my doctor was going to put me on SETRALINE so told me fo go down to 20mg which i didnt do i went down to 30mg 2 week ago with the intention of going down to 20mg and starting SETRALINE I felt fine for 2 weeks and today i am very anxious !! would it take 2 weeks for a dose change to notice ? i am having therapy so not sure if changing will be the best thing at the moment but really suffering

    absolutely it can take 2 weeks, for me dose changes dont kick in for 6-8 weeks x

    so it can take 2 weeks for side effects of a lower dose to take effect then another 6 weeks to settle?

      deb when i reduce i usually feel good for weeks before the symptoms hit x

      thank god i could not work out why two weeks later i felt so bad thoyght i would happen straight away

      how long should i waut now for dose to settle

      oh thats a hard one as im sensitive to dose changes so it takes me a long time to settle, but everyone is different x

    deblou everyone is different . if you change dose or med it takes a long time for you body to settle. if i change my dose up or down a little i give it no less than 3 months and as high as 6 months to settle good. thats just me. with that said i do feel the changes good or bad before then . when we are overstressed and have anxiety this makes us very impatient. so try to be patient. ssris change brain chemistry slow. your body tries to compensate for your med dose change this is one reason it takes so long to settle. it overcompensates then undercompensates then finally settles. going to 30 mg give it several months to settle. changing to 40 changing to different med takes time. example if you think you will try and give it 4 weeks to settle then just double that to 8 weeks . go slow!

    thanks BRIAN i just had never experienced symptoms 2 weeks later of reducing i thought it would happen straight away like it is when you go up a dose that is what scared me

      deb these are powerful drugs ive been trying to settle on a lower dose for over 12 months x
