Hi, I had a double Endoscopy and Colonoscopy performed on 12/6/19 and have been very sick since I was discharged. My Gastro surgeon did not show any concern and care about my complaints and the Anesthisiologist did not want to return my calls. My lympnodes swelled up big and hurt bad the 1st night, I feel so sick with severe back pain, vertigo, naseau, dry heathing like almost vomiting, sweating excessively every night, severe weakness, breathing heavy, severe rib pain and migraine since 12/6/19 . My primary care doctor prescribed a 3 day antibiotic but no one can tell me why I am so sick going on the 2nd week after these double procedures. I have other surgeries in my past and never became sick like this. My surgeon does not care. I will be requesting another referral to a different Gastrologist urgently for a post check. My results from these procedures just showed I have Gerd and the Gastro just prescribed Omeprazole 20mg. I am so angry but need answers, anyone please help??

Maybe you had a reaction to the sedation or the procedure itself irritated your gut. I had a very bad reaction to the sedation and it was brushed off as unusual. You're probably better to see a different specialist.

i had this procedure done at the same time and the only issues i had was heavy breathing after; i told the doctor she brushed me off saying well your blood pressure is fine and ur heart rate is fine, my throat was irritated, it maybe 20-30 min for it to disappear, what pippa said might be true because i was put to sleep with anaesthesia to get my mirena removed and i had all these issues that u are having, alot of diarrhea as well, maybe a bad reaction or it irritated my IBS, i was so scared, i shortness of breath everything, i almost called 911, my dr couldnt tell me why cause he didnt know but alot

Thank you, I did request a urgent referral to a different Gasterologist and changed my primary care physician. Today is 12/16/19 and I am still sick with flu like symptoms and pain in in my back, neck, stomache, and ribs so bad and can bearly walk. Cant believe that my surgeon and primary care physician call it a mystery illness and offer no help. I totally regret these procedures and feel I was tricked and into going forward with these double procedures when I never needed them.

hi kitty, this sounds like a case of medical negligence! where do you live in the country? i have had major problems with hospitals and g.p's in the past. i spoke to a company called pohwer, they deal with these sort of problems of this nature. try finding their number and they could help you to get to the bottom of this. my last doctor's surgery and dwp owe me over £50+ thousands in wages because i was given the wrong information, it's over 7;years that i've worked. i wish you luck, don't forget their name. contact them today.

Hi Sam, I live in the US, California, I agree about the negligence, I filed a grievance with my insurance against all parties. Thanks for the info, will look that up. I'm sick of doctors taking advantage of us and our insurance to get paid.

Hi Sam, I looked up that Pohwer, seems like they service London only, how do I look something like that up in the USA? Their website looked good. I would love a company like that here in the US.

hi kitty, i haven't any idea what service like this would exist in the u.s. i live in a little place in the East Midlands, the most similar thing i can think of is a service to support patients with medical complaints/queries. try that maybe you will find something that way?

When you have these procedures, doctor's don't care about being rough because you are under sedation. and don't feel anything. It's only afterwards that you get the side effects and when you complain, you get fobbed off.

I got really I'll after my colonoscopy and ended up being admitted to a&e. once they found there was nothing to see on an x-ray they just sent me home. I got in to see the gastrologist asap and he said my body had gone into shock after the procedure as they poked around a lot and were quite rough. it took 10 days for me to be able to return to work, and a few weeks for my digestive system to return to normal. the rib/ chest pain sounds like trapped wind. try taking something with simethicone in it
